Just keeps getting better: the latest programme for the inaugural ‘School of International Futures’ at Wilton Park

13 – 17 August 2012

It’s less than a month until the Inaugural School of International Futures – and the lineup just keeps getting better and better.   There’s a new programme on the website highlighting new additions to the SOIF line-up: World Bank Strategic Futures author, Mansoor Dailami; Saatchi CEO, Magnus Djaba; and Peter Apps, Reuters risk correspondent, among other excellent new speakers.  They’re joining Anne-Marie Slaughter, Lord Peter Hennessy, Michael Oppenheimer and many other visiting speakers and faculty experts.  Alun and I have just come back from Wilton Park where preparations for the retreat go apace.  The WP A team of Wendy, Julia and Nicola are ensuring that we not only work really hard – but we can play hard as they organise croquet and bbqs and other fun things in the beautiful surroundings of the English garden and formal conservatory.

I am really looking forward to it too: exchanging views with people from 25 different countries on how we ensure that the long-term is taken into account at a time when we have so many crises to manage globally.  Every headline I see underlines both the challenge and the value of exploring strategic futures – the timing really couldn’t be better!

There are a couple of places left – contact me or Wendy Head (wendy.head@wiltonpark.org.uk or +44 (0) 1903 817695) if you would like to know more.
