THE SCHOOL OF INTERNATIONAL FUTURES

I am pleased to advise you that an updated programme for the inaugural School of International Futures at Wilton Park is now available, along with presenter biographies, you can see the programme here.
Anne-Marie Slaughter, Professor of Politics and International Affairs at Princeton University and former Director of Policy Planning at the US State Department is amongst confirmed speakers at the School of International Futures, and will offer her insight on the importance of strategic foresight for foreign policy.
Ambassador Arif Lalani, Director General of Strategy and Policy Planning at the Canadian Department of Foreign Affairs, will be speaking about the core importance of preparedness and contingency planning and his experience of this in Afghanistan.
Further prominent speakers include Mike Jeffress and Hardin Tibbs. Mike Jeffress is Director of Global and Emerging Issues at the US National Intelligence Council (NIC) and will explain the impact of the NIC’s Global Trends programme, considering its strategic approach and methodology. Hardin Tibbs is Chief Executive Officer of Synthesis Strategic Consulting and will lead a session on how to scope, distil and then address policy issues using foresight exercises.
Representatives of national governments, international organisations, leading think tanks, and major corporates will continue to be confirmed as speakers in the coming weeks.
